      Our History

Rochester Greenovation started with Jason Rowe and an idea to help keep useful objects out of the landfill. There were many branches to our original game plan including a tool library, deconstructing houses, building tiny houses, and more. There were many iterations of what Greenoavtion was to become.

There were many branches to our original game plan including a tool library, deconstructing houses, building tiny houses, and more. There were many iterations of what Greenoavtion was to become.

What's survived has been the unwavering mission of keeping everything out of the landfill.

The Greenovation store has become the hub of our mission and where we sell anything usable  no matter how outdated, ugly, odd, or ultra-specific. We are a no-kill shelter waiting for the perfect home for objects no longer needed or desired by their previous owners.

      Our Mission

Rochester Greenovation is an Independent Nonprofit Organization where selling second hand, reducing waste, reusing and upcycling are our main priorities.

But what is our TOP priority? Continuing to manifest our commitment to our wonderful City of Rochester, while collaborating with like minded Rochesterians who share the same Green Values

The store also hosts vendors that bring in a variety of items ranging from handmade jewelry, furniture, decor, and art to mid-century furniture, refinished pieces, industrial, eclectic, found, and unique items. Each vendor brings something different to the store.

Our connected warehouse also houses windows, doors, tiles, flooring, lighting, appliances, wood pieces, and more that are all for sale. Many items in the warehouse change and our tags don’t stick well so please ask for assistance in pricing if you don’t see any.

Donating your stuff for real local impact

Greenovation partners with local Not-For-Profits.  Some  items  are  redirected  to  local  organizations  and what gets sold in our fabulous store is to support our mission to keep  stuff  out  of  landfills.
